Procedure for Injuries in University Facilities

If you experience an injury within university facilities, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the emergency room
Immediately visit the nearest emergency room to receive medical assistance.

  2. Submit the documentation
Once you receive the I.N.A.I.L. medical certificate with the number of recovery days, send it along with the injury report to:
    1. Student Services and Teaching Office, by contacting the relevant secretariat for your Department.
    2. Doctoral Research Office (if you are a PhD student)

  3. Inform your Department
Contact the Department Directorate, the Administrative Secretariat, or the Teaching Secretariat to provide a detailed description of the causes and circumstances of the injury.

  4. Complete the injury report form
The Department must complete the injury report form and urgently send it to the Student Services and Teaching Office, either in original or via email.

  5. Submission of documentation to authorities
The University must send all documentation to I.N.A.I.L. and the relevant Public Security Authority within 48 hours (or 24 hours in case of death or imminent risk).

  6. Extension of absence and injury closure
    1. If necessary, you can extend your absence by visiting I.N.A.I.L. (via del Teatro Romano 18, Trieste) or your general practitioner and sending the medical certificate to the Administration.
    2. Before resuming academic activities, you must officially close the injury case at I.N.A.I.L. or your general practitioner and send the final certificate to the Administration.

Follow these steps to ensure proper injury management and avoid penalties for the University.
