The University, in compliance with testamentary provisions, can establish foundations with their own legal personality and endowment, aimed at supporting scientific research in various fields, establishing scholarships and study awards, as well as specialization courses. It is possible to contribute to supporting the University's activities through a bequest or donation, even of modest value. The University commits to using the funds raised to support research, develop new projects, and encourage initiatives aimed at capable and deserving students.

               The donation

A donation is a contribution made out of liberality. The intention to donate is expressed through a letter of intent, followed by the University's acceptance and the subsequent formalization of the notarial deed, except for donations of modest value, for which a notarial deed is not required. Works of art or other movable property considered useful for the University (e.g., laboratory equipment, teaching tools, items of historical interest) can also be donated.

             Bequest or Legacy: 

In one's will, it is possible to specify that certain assets, whether movable or immovable, be dedicated to the University of Trieste. The purpose for which these assets should be used may already be indicated by the testator. In cases where the bequest is without specific designation, the University will decide on its use within the scope of its institutional purposes.

A funding for studies, the opportunity to specialize, or recognition for one's activities allows supporting deserving young individuals or those in disadvantaged economic conditions, providing them with the opportunity to express their full potential.

Scholarships are awarded for study and research activities yet to be conducted, while study and graduation prizes are awarded to recognize completed study works (thesis, doctoral dissertations, etc.).
