The July edition of "Piazzale Europa" is online!

July brings the energy of final exams, the relief of a milestone achieved, and new ideas beginning to take shape. It’s a transitional month, but also one of momentum. In this spirit of movement and transformation, the new issue introduces something new: a space dedicated to those who experience university life through sport.

"UniTSport" makes its debut, a new section exploring the sporting dimension of university life. A space to give voice to students who juggle both studying and training, as well as to the events and sports activities promoted within the academic world. In this first feature, we dive into the Universiade with an interview with the acting President of the University Sports Committee.

In "Research Stories", we delve into a study investigating the effects of black carbon particles on ocean ecosystems, shedding light on the links between the environment, human activity, and climate change.

In "Innov@UniTS", the spotlight is on BatterIT, winner of the Red Bull Basement Italy 2024 contest. The project presents an innovative hybrid battery based on salt technology, designed to make electric mobility more sustainable by reducing reliance on rare materials.

In the "Alumni Tell their Stories" section, we share an interview with a graduate in Diplomacy and International Cooperation who successfully turned his passions and skills into a career in corporate communication.

Enjoy the read!

"Piazzale Europa" is the online magazine that tells the story of the University of Trieste. Launched in October 2024, it is a tool that connects with the home page of the UniTS website, highlighting the main news published, while also offering exclusive content in four sections updated every month: Innov@UniTS, Alumni Tell their Stories, UniTSport, and Research Stories.
