Cross-border cooperation (Interreg A): between neighboring regions (NUTS 3) to promote integrated regional development among bordering regions with maritime and land borders in two or more Member States or between bordering regions in at least one Member State and a third country on the external borders of the Union other than those covered by programs under the Union's external financing instruments.

Croatia: Primorsko-goranska, Ličko-senjska, Zadarska, Šibensko-kninska, Splitsko-dalmatinska, Istarska, Dubrovačko-neretvanska e Karlovačka.

The Program is structured around the following five thematic areas:

  1. Blue Economy: Research and innovation, and skills for businesses.
  2. Environment and Resilience: Adaptation to climate change, biodiversity, and marine pollution.
  3. Maritime Transport: Multimodality and cross-border connections.
  4. Culture and Tourism: Sustainable development through the tourism and cultural resources of coastal areas.
  5. Cooperation and Governance: Improvement of institutional collaboration and reduction of administrative obstacles.

For the 2021-2027 programming period of INTERREG Italy-Croatia, a total of €216.23 million will be made available. For the University, the funding provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) amounts to a maximum of 80%, while the remaining part is provided by the Italian revolving fund.

The INTERREG Italy-Slovenia Programme aims, also for the 2021-2027 programming period, to strengthen cooperation among eligible areas by promoting actions for integrated territorial development, within the framework of the Union's cohesion policy priorities. The programme will be developed with a view to continuity and capitalization on what was achieved in the previous period 2014-2020, which funded 63 projects in the fields of competitiveness, research and innovation, protection and enhancement of cultural and natural resources, and cross-border services.

Eligible Areas

Italy: Veneto (Venezia) e Friuli Venezia Giulia (Udine, Pordenone, Gorizia e Trieste).

Slovenia: Notranjsko-kraška, Osrednjeslovenska, Gorenjska, Obalno-kraška e Goriška.

For the 2021-2027 programming period of INTERREG Italy-Slovenia, 88.6 million euros will be made available. For the University, the portion of funding provided by the ERDF amounts to a maximum of 80%, while the remaining portion is provided by the Italian Revolving Fund.
