The first meeting saw the new UniTS lecturers and researchers engaged ‘on the move’ at the Portogruaro campus. The training day started in the morning with an evidence-based explanation of the teaching skills required by the present and future of academia, delivered by Anna Serbati, coordinator of FormID at the Teaching and Learning Centre of the University of Trento.

In the afternoon, a contribution from Elisabetta Madriz, lecturer in General and Social Pedagogy at the Department of Humanities at UniTS, shifted focus to the interactive aspect of university teaching through active and participatory methods.

The 14 lecturers and researchers who took up their posts in the first three months of this year are involved in the course. The training programme, which will include a further eight meetings concluding on 23rd June, will touch on aspects related to teaching (digital and non-digital) and assessment skills, professional values, institutional processes, and inclusive practices geared towards the well-being of students.

A second edition of the course is planned for the autumn and will include the academics who will take up their posts in the second half of the year.
