The Life Skills Development Workshop, organised by the University of Trieste as part of the PRO-BENE-COMUNE project, offers a free opportunity for students who wish to strengthen their personal and professional abilities through a 30-hour theoretical and experiential training programme. The workshop is divided into three 10-hour modules, each focusing on the development of essential skills for individual growth.

Students who attend at least 75% of the sessions and complete both an initial and final questionnaire will receive an Open Badge, a digital certificate recognising the acquired skills, which can be used to enhance their professional profile.

The three workshop modules focus on the following areas:

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills (led by Dr. Alan Mattiassi): tools to improve active listening, assertive communication and negotiation, with the aim of managing complex and conflictual communication effectively.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making Skills (led by Dr. Diego Zambon): strategies to approach complex problems in a structured way, make informed decisions, and collaborate effectively in team decision-making processes.
  • Stress and Emotion Management Skills (led by Dr. Anna Di Francia): techniques to recognise and manage stress, understand one’s emotions, and improve overall psychological well-being and adaptability.

Participation Details

The workshop will begin in the second half of March.

The full lesson schedule and the breakdown of each module are available on the dedicated page:
https://moodle2.units.it/course/section.php?id=153355.
Students can consult the calendar and register by selecting an available session.

Before the start of the course, all registered participants will receive an email containing a link to complete the questionnaires related to the workshop’s target skill areas.

Attendance will be recorded in class to verify the percentage required for Open Badge eligibility. Only students who participate in Part 1 of a module will be allowed to proceed to Parts 2 and 3 of the same module. While the three modules can be completed independently, the internal sessions (Parts 1–2–3) must be followed in sequence.

Students will have up to two months (two editions) to complete the entire workshop.

This initiative is part of the projects “PRO-BENE-COMUNE” and “PRO-BENE-COMUNE 2.0”, funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research, and aims to promote student well-being through training activities and psychological support.
