A seminar entitled “Improving retirement security of couples through continued lifecycle employment: Evidence from maternity leave policies” will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the Conference Room on the second floor of Building D.

Speaker: dr. Dave Knapp, University of Southern California (USC).

The seminar can also be followed on Microsoft Teams

Dave Knapp will present a research paper studying the link between public policies to support motherhood, work histories, and women's and men's pre- and post-retirement incomes, comparing families where only one member is a labor income earner with families where both partners earn income.

The seminar is organized by the Department of Economic, Business, Mathematical and Statistical Sciences (DEAMS) “Bruno de Finetti”.

The event is being held as part of an intensive week of work organized in Trieste by DEAMS with a delegation from the University of Southern California (USC) and Ca' Foscari. The collaboration concerns an international project called “Gateway to Global Aging” (managed by USC). The research group is working together to collect data and analyze Long Term Care policies in Italy and the rest of the world.
