The diachronic translation on the example of the Nibelungenlied in twentieth-century Europe / Die diachrone Übersetzung - Das Beispiel des Nibelungenlieds im zwanzigsten Jahrhundert in Europa

On Friday, June 14, 2024, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., an afternoon of studies on diachronic translation organized in cooperation with the Merano Academy will be held in the Aula Magna of the IUSLIT Department of Legal, Language, Interpretation and Translation Sciences, Via Filzi 14.

This is the last stage of the cycle of conferences, lectures, seminars, and events that have so far taken place at universities and research centers in Merano, Bolzano, Villa Vigoni (Como), and Oxford, and which are dedicated to the rediscovery of the Nibelungen in Italy and in the European context. In Trieste, in particular the problems related to the presentation of this very distant text will be discussed, taking as an example the translations and remakes from Old German into contemporary European languages/cultures.
