10 April 2025 , 6:30 - 8:30 pm Testo evento On Thursday, April 10, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, in the Chapel Hall of the former Military Hospital (via Fabio Severo 40, Trieste), a seminar titled “Cybersecurity: why we should worry about attacks on dishwashers (and cars, insulin pumps…)” will take place. The event is organized by Collegio Fonda and curated by Prof. Alberto Bartoli from the Department of Engineering and Architecture at the University of Trieste. In an increasingly interconnected world, even the most unexpected objects – from dishwashers to medical devices, from cars to smart home systems – can become entry points for potentially serious cyberattacks. If compromised, these devices pose risks not only to personal safety but also to critical infrastructure and complex industrial systems, with potential consequences for strategic sectors such as energy, transportation, and healthcare.Through real-life cases and practical scenarios, the seminar will offer a reflection on the delicate balance between technological innovation and security, highlighting the role each connected device plays within a vulnerable ecosystem. The session will explain how targeted attacks on seemingly harmless objects can spread and compromise industrial control systems, power grids, and even nuclear plants. The event is open to students, professionals, and all citizens interested in technology and cybersecurity. It will take place in person and is free of charge, with prior registration required. Link Event link
