19 September 2025 , 6 - 8 pm Sede evento Aula 1A - edificio D, Campus di Piazzale Europa Testo evento The CONI Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Sports School and the University of Trieste, through the University Sports Committee (CSU) and the Equal Opportunities Committee (CUG), are promoting the first workshop dedicated to the role of the safeguarding officer, a key figure in sport whose job it is to ensure the protection of athletes' rights by preventing abuse, discrimination and gender-based violence.The initiative will take place on Friday 19th September from 18, in room 1A on the first floor of building D, Piazzale Europa Campus.The meeting will open with a screening of the documentary film Cattivi Maestri (Bad Teachers) by director Roberto Orazi, produced by LupinFilm. The film, which has already been screened at the Rome Film Festival, tells the true story of a child, now an adult and parent, who was a victim of abuse in sport.The film has been kindly gifted exclusively in our region and only for this event, a few weeks before its release on digital platforms and distribution in cinemas.The 55-minute screening will be followed by a discussion on the issue of violence and abuse in sport and what tools can be adopted to prevent and combat this phenomenon, ensuring greater safety for children and adolescents.In particular, the fundamental role of the safeguarding officer will be highlighted, introduced by the most recent legislation adopted in the field of sport to foster and maintain a safe environment for the protection of minors.Speakers will include Luca Modolo, sports psychologist and psychotherapist, and Roberto Alessio, lecturer at the CONI FVG Regional School of Sport.The initiative is aimed in particular at sports professionals, athletes and students.
