Thu, Nov 7 2024, 6:30 - 7:30pm Testo evento On Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 6:30 p.m., at Rogers Station, Riva Grumula 14, Trieste, a rather unusual topic will be addressed: “Architecture for the Death of Post-Secular Societies.” As part of the meeting, the volume “Architecture and Death. Rites, Burials and Remains of the Human” (LetteraVentidue editions, 2024), edited by Caterina Padoa Schioppa, professor at La Sapienza University of Rome. Introducing the author will be Giovanni Fraziano, former professor at the University of Trieste, while the presentation will be by Giuseppina Scavuzzo, professor at the Julian university. Also speaking will be Mariacristina D'Oria and Tommaso Antiga, (UniTS).Caterina Padoa Schioppa's book weaves together theoretical reflections and design visions. In addition to texts by the author, there are essays by Felice Cimatti, Stefano Colavita, Giovanni Corbellini, Niccolò di Virgilio, Mariacristina D'Oria, Marcello Massenzio, and an afterword by Stefano Catucci.The initiative, part of the “Rogers Events” review, promoted by the E.N. Rogers Association together with the University of Trieste, aims to lay eyes on a shadowy area, a shy yet emerging “demand for architecture”: the secular space for funeral rites.
