Actuarial, financial and economic statistics
During the Master's degree programme in Statistics and Actuarial Sciences, students engage with quantitative subjects, including probability calculus, statistics, and techniques used in actuarial science. These are fundamental disciplines for solving problems in the insurance, financial, and pension sectors, as well as for evaluating the economic implications associated with risks.
The program offers two distinct curriculums.
If students choose to follow the ‘Actuarial-Financial’ curriculum, they will develop the skills necessary for analysing life insurance, property and casualty insurance, and pension funds, as well as learning about methods for managing financial and insurance risks.
In the ’Data Science for Insurance and Finance‘ curriculum, greater emphasis is placed on computational aspects, and, in particular, the use of data analysis to make decisions in the fields of insurance and finance.
The degree programme aims to provide its students with the resources to develop advanced analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems while accounting for uncertainty. The programme prepares students for a variety of careers, such as a career as an actuary, financial analyst, insurance consultant, or data professional.
Furthermore, students have the valuable opportunity complete internships with companies both in Italy and abroad. This practical experience further enriches their education, allowing them to apply the knowledge acquired during the course to a professional setting.
