Maker Faire Rome – The European Edition 2025

Launch of the Call for Universities and Research Institutes 2025

Applications by Monday 23 June 2025

Once again this year Maker Faire Rome, the reference event for innovation in Europe, organised and promoted by the Chamber of Commerce of Rome, gives space to the protagonists of scientific, university and technological research with the Call for Universities and Research Institutes 2025, which will award prizes to the projects of the most deserving State Universities and Public Research Institutes.

The 13th edition of Maker Faire Rome will be held from 17 to 19 October 2025 at the Gazometro Ostiense in Rome. Innovation will be the protagonist in all its declinations: from digital manufacturing to IoT, from robotics to Artificial Intelligence, from agritech to digital manufacturing, passing through Big Data and biohacking, up to the latest discoveries of the metaverse and augmented reality.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for universities and public research institutes to present their research and development projects to the general public and increase the visibility of their activities on an international scale. Students will be able, in this context, to engage with companies, start-ups, institutions and other research centres.

Projects can be submitted online until 23 June 2025 at the link:  https://makers.makerfairerome.eu/ita/login?from=%2Fita

Possible ways of participation are

- exhibition of the project, with the possibility of providing a bare area (free of charge) or a pre-equipped 8 square metre stand (cost of 400 euros); - workshop in the new ‘Make Lab - Let's Create Together’ area (with the possibility of reimbursement, as per regulations) **NOVELTY 2025**;

- exhibitions, in a public and/or virtual space - with creative, technological, robotic or musical performances;

- talks (the scheduling of such activities could take place on dates other than those scheduled for the exhibition event, and in digital mode).
