The meeting ‘Women entrepreneurs and managers in the world of mechanics’ is the seventh in the series ‘Women and Work’ organised by UniTS, MIB Trieste and AIDDA., and will take place on 7th March 2024, from 17:00 to 19:00, in MIB Trieste School of Management, Palazzo Ferdinandeo, Largo Caduti di Nassiriya 1, Trieste

The event aims to put the spotlight on the stories, challenges and prospects of women who are making their mark in the sector, an area traditionally dominated by men, where female employment barely reaches 20%.

The purpose of the meeting is to analyse trends in an industry where women's employment is slightly increasing (albeit mainly in clerical functions) but where the gender pay gap is much more pronounced than in other sectors.

The event will highlight women's contribution to leadership roles and promote a constructive discussion on closing the pay gap and increasing the presence of women in the industry, particularly in specialised roles. The discussion will highlight that by doing so, young people would be encouraged to enter the industry and the skills gap that has been repeatedly highlighted would be counteracted.
