On Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 May 2025, the Department of Humanities (DISU) of the University of Trieste will host Prof. Tomasz Blaszczak from Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas (Lithuania), one of the partner institutions of the Transform4Europe (T4EU) Alliance, of which our University is a member.

Prof. Blaszczak is a contemporary historian specializing in Central and Eastern European history. During his visit, he will give two open lectures in English:

  • Monday, 12 May, 12:00 – 14:00, Room B, Androna Baciocchi
    The Development of the Lithuanian-Belarusian Border: Soviet Legacies and New Divides
    (part of Prof. Katia Catalan’s course)
  • Tuesday, 13 May, 15:00 – 17:00, Room C1, Androna Baciocchi
    Constructing Modern Lithuanian Identity: Politics of Memory in Interwar Lithuania
    (part of Prof. Giovanna Foi’s course)

These lectures offer a valuable opportunity to explore key issues related to European history, memory politics, and border dynamics in the post-Soviet space.
