As part of the activities planned within the T4Rail (IT-SI) project, funded through the Interreg Italy-Slovenia programme, the Department of Economic, Business, Mathematical and Statistical Sciences (DEAMS) at the University of Trieste will host the workshop ‘Technological Opportunities in Railway Operations at the Italy-Slovenia Border: Challenges and Potential Impacts.’

This event, which will provide a forum for discussing innovations in railway transport in border areas, will take place on Friday, 21st February 2025, from 16:00 to 19:00 in the Bruno de Finetti Conference Room (Room 1_A, first floor) of Building D at the Piazzale Europa 1 campus. The workshop will bring together railway companies, logistics operators, major businesses, and local authorities responsible for transport.

The aim is to identify the key challenges in current cross-border railway services and the benefits expected from the implementation of technological innovations. To this end, focus groups will be organised, allowing participants to engage in discussions on the topics at hand.

The event is open to all interested participants. To attend, please complete the registration form by 19th February: https://forms.gle/pxsRKBBvtitHMJx5A.

The workshop can also be followed remotely via Microsoft Teams.
