15 March 2025 , Tutto il giorno Testo evento Since the 2023-24 academic year, the University of Trieste has launched the experimental inter-university project "STUDIO DUE - GONGO 2025", related to teaching in the Architectural Design Laboratories of the 2nd year of the Architecture degree courses. Coordinated by Thomas Bisiani and Adriano Venudo from the Department of Engineering and Architecture, the project involves the Politecnico di Milano, the University Federico II of Naples, and the University of Salerno.In its first year of activity, the project focused on study and design in the historic center of Naples. For the 2024-2025 academic year, in occasion of GO!2025 Gorizia – Nova Gorica European Capital of Culture, the focus will shift to the cross-border area between Italy and Slovenia, with particular emphasis on the redevelopment of the railway terminal at the Transalpina station in Nova Gorica and its surrounding urban contexts.On March 15, 2025, starting at 9:30 AM, an important study day will take place at the PUG Conference Center (via Alviano 18, Gorizia), involving over 200 students and around fifteen professors and assistants from the universities of Trieste, Milan, Naples, and Salerno. The meeting will be an opportunity to analyze and discuss the architectural and urban heritage of the Gorizia-Nova Gorica cross-border area, as well as to reflect on the outcomes of the first year of the project.The morning will be enriched by two prominent lectures: Paolo Nicoloso, Professor of Architectural History at the University of Trieste, will give the lecture “Gorizia. 1900-1950”, followed by a talk by architect and scholar Nejc Koradin, titled “Nova Gorica. The Birth of a City”.At the end of the event, there will be a guided walk to the study sites, particularly in the area of the Transalpina railway station, which is the focal point of the design research for this edition.
