Organised by the Department of Life Sciences of the University of Trieste, the 20th edition of the Spring Congressino will take place on 13 and 14 June 2025, at Via del Lazzaretto Vecchio 8, Trieste.

The Congressino was established in 1972 by Gaetano Kanizsa, together with Paolo Bozzi, as a national conference entirely dedicated to experimental psychology, with particular focus on the study of perception. After Kanizsa’s death, the initiative was interrupted, but it resumed in 2001 with an annual schedule, except for brief pauses during the pandemic years.

Since its revival, the Congressino has maintained an informal and inclusive character, designed to foster the exchange of ideas, collaboration among researchers, and to provide space for young scholars. The early editions were held at Dobrovo Castle, Slovenia, before relocating permanently to Italy, where the most recent meetings have been held.

On Friday, 13 June 2025, at 6:00 p.m., at the end of the first day of the conference, the exhibition ART AND PERCEPTION will be inaugurated. It features visual works by Alberto Argenton, Gaetano Kanizsa, Manfredo Massironi, along with a musical tribute to Paolo Bozzi. The exhibition will remain open by appointment only, at the same venue (Via del Lazzaretto Vecchio, 8), until 18 July 2025.
