On Thursday, May 9 and Friday, May 10, 2024, the AIS - Social Policy Section conference "Social Policies as Interrelational Constructions" will be held.

Social policies are the outcome of the concrete interactive dynamics among many actors, public and private, individual and collective, not traceable, as is well known, to the initiative of public institutions alone. Capturing the relational interweaving that produces social policies requires recognition of the multiplicity of actors, the implication of multiple factors, and the integration of different sectors.

In order to understand and analyze current social policies and to prospect their evolutionary dynamics, the Social Policy Section of the Italian Sociology Association with the University of Trieste, Department of Humanities, is organizing an opportunity for scientific, cultural and professional confrontation, both for the development of methodologies of investigation capable of detecting the plurality of co-implicated subjects, the tensions and interests that are articulated in their interactions, and the forms of relationships that are generated; as well as to increase the mutual recognition of the subjects, which from the different sectors of social life, scientific communities and the university, contribute to producing the outcome.

The conference aims to open a space for discussion particularly on the topics of "co-programming," "co-design," and "co-participation," not as rhetorical words, but as concrete action directions to be declined in the 6 sessions

1. Digitalization and Sustainability 2. Territorial Governance 3. Third Sector Protagonisms 4. Welfare and Inequalities 5. Territorial Policy 6. Evaluation of policies and services.

The conference will be held on Thursday, May 9, at Lecture Hall A of the Department of Humanities, University of Trieste, Androna Campo Marzio, 10; and on Friday, May 10, at the Bobi Bazlen Hall, Gopcevic Palace Via Rossini No. 4.

The detailed program of the two days can be found in the attachment below.
