On Saturday, March 29, at 7:30 PM, in the Aula Magna of the Department of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators (Via Filzi 14), SISMA will take the stage. This stand-up show combines scientific outreach with theatrical performance to explore the phenomenon of earthquakes. Using a multidisciplinary approach, SISMA alternates between scientific theories, recorded data, and collective memory within a unique sound environment. The show transforms seismograms into visible and audible matter through a laser projection.

The performance delves into geosciences, intertwining geology, acoustics, and seismology with the physical and emotional impact of earthquakes. Daniele Tenze, writer, director, and performer, will be accompanied by the sounds, music, and projections of Alberto Rizzo, an audiovisual researcher, musician, and composer.

SISMA is part of the project "Noi e il Terremoto" ("We and the Earthquake"), created by CEA Mulino Cocconi ODV, the managing body of the Ecomuseum of Water in Gemonese, with the support of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The project is a collaboration between the University of Trieste, CSS Teatro Stabile di Innovazione del Friuli Venezia Giulia, and the municipalities of Buja and Gemona del Friuli.

Thanks to the expertise of University of Trieste professors Stefano Parolai and Fabio Romanelli, as well as research conducted in recent months, the material gathered for the show has also been used to update interactive lessons and school workshops at the Lab Terremoto, a scientific outreach center active in Gemona del Friuli since 2016. Schools interested in learning more about earthquakes can book a visit by writing to info@ecomuseodelleacque.it.
