09 December 2025, 10 - 11 am Testo evento On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., Professor Georgios Tzougas of Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, and current Visiting Professor at DEAMS, will host a roundtable discussion entitled "The Role and Significance of Green Bonds in Funding the Transition to a Low-Carbon Economy". The meeting will take place in Building D, 3rd floor, Meeting Room.Green bonds are an emerging and critical component of financial markets' contribution to financing the environmental transition to a low-carbon industry and initiatives that align with climate bond initiatives, the Green Bond Principles, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which outline the widely and increasingly adopted ratings known as environmental, social, and governance (ESG) ratings. Therefore, the roundtable will aim to foster a scientific discussion among participants regarding the value of green bonds in the transition to a Low-Carbon Economy, as well as a detailed analysis of what differentiates such instruments from standard debt issuance for project funding.
