The event aims to analyze the political, social, and economic situation in Somalia.Open to all interested participants, the roundtable seeks to foster an in-depth discussion on political, security, social, and economic trends in the Horn of Africa, a region that is increasingly central to global geopolitical dynamics.Promoted by the Africa, Asia, and Middle East Observatory of the Department of Political and Social Sciences, the event will provide an opportunity to explore knowledge exchange initiatives and the role of higher education in international cooperation, particularly in light of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the University of Trieste and the Somali National University.The roundtable is part of a broader research project on “Climate Change, Conflicts, and Migration”, which examines the complex interconnections between climate challenges, regional security, and infrastructure development.The discussion will feature Hassan Osman Ga’al, Rector of Somali National University, in dialogue with professors from the University of Trieste: Ilaria Micheli (IUSLIT), Federico Battera (DiSPeS), Giuseppe Borruso (DEAMS), and Federico Donelli (DiSPeS). The session will be moderated by Dr. Sara Cosatti and Dr. Beatrice Marchesini.
