On Tuesday 10th December 2024, at 17:30, the Friulian Philological Society of Gorizia (Società Filologica Friulana – via Ascoli 1) will host the presentation of the EUT volume ‘Poco mi manca oramai per diventare io stesso un bibliofilo...’ Umberto Saba e l’opera di Francesco Petrarca (I am now only a few steps away from becoming a book lover myself. Umberto Saba and the works of Francesco Petrarca) by Alessandra Sirugo.

The event, curated by Lorenzo Tommasini, is part of the project ‘Per un anniversario petrarchesco (1374-2024). Francesco Petrarca nell'opera di Umberto Saba' (On the occasion of Petrarca’s 1374-2024 anniversary. Francesco Petrarca in the works of Umberto Saba), from 18th September 2024 to 19th April 2025.

This volume, the catalogue of the exhibition held at the Petrarca Civic Museum in Trieste, explores the relationship between Francesco Petrarca and the poetry of Umberto Saba, enriched by documents from the Saba Fund and records from the collections of the ‘A. Hortis’ Civic Library. 

An opportunity to discover a new side of Umberto Saba, not only as a poet, but also as a bookseller and book lover of great expertise.
