10 December 2024 , 2:30 - 3:30 pm Sede evento Aula Cacciaguerra, Edificio A, Piazzale Europa Testo evento The ‘Trieste Quantum’ seminar series continues, dedicated to recent scientific activities in the field of quantum physics. The next event will feature Prof. Giuseppe (Pino) Vallone, from the Department of Information Engineering at the University of Padua. The event will be held on Tuesday 10th December at 14:30 in the Cacciaguerra Hall of Building A.The seminar, entitled ‘Recent developments in quantum communication and quantum randomness’, will be of an informative nature and is designed to be accessible also to a non-specialist audience. It is an excellent opportunity to find out what quantum communication is all about and what breakthroughs have been achieved thanks to new technologies. In the meeting, Prof. Vallone will illustrate the progress of quantum technologies in the last twenty years, from experimental prototypes to practical applications such as Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Quantum Random Number Generators (QRNGs). The most recent results obtained by his research group at the University of Padua for the realisation of secure QRNGs and increasingly efficient QKD systems will be presented. Allegati Document Flyer
