30 March 2026, 4:30 - 7 pm Testo evento On Monday, March 30, 2026, at 4:30 p.m., the conference Monuments, Museums and Memories of the Two World Wars in Gorizia will take place in the Conference Hall of the Provincial Museums of Gorizia (Borgo Castello, 13), in Gorizia.This is the fifth event in the series of popular seminars entitled Porti, popolazioni, società in un'area di frontiera, promoted by the Department of Humanities (DiSU) with the scientific coordination of professor Tullia Catalan.Gorizia was severely affected by the violence of both world wars, which left their mark and tangible and intangible vestiges of memory. Today, it represents the symbolic city of the fruitful and peaceful relations between Italy and Slovenia, and the border has become a place of cultural intersection, also through its museumization on both sides. The meeting will explore all these aspects through different perspectives.The program includes presentations by Massimo Baioni (University of Milan), Massimo Degrassi (UniTS), Alessandro Cattunar (Quarantasettezeroquattro Association), and Tullia Catalan (UniTS).
