On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 2 to 6 p.m., the next seminar of the @BusinessLounge cycle entitled “Literature that Inspires Marketing: from Shakespeare to Kerouac, Propp to Calvin” will take place at CLab headquarters in Former Military Hospital, 40 F. Severo Street.

Since the twentieth century literature and marketing have been winking at each other, and they have not stopped doing so even in the digital age. Because since time immemorial the great writers have fed our imagination with stories, thoughts and unforgettable protagonists. And in an even more basic way they have taught indispensable rules for communicating an idea and convincing interlocutors through effective storytelling, which is then the essence of the writers' craft. During this meeting we will learn how to steal some tricks of the trade from famous novelists and essayists, reflect together on these principles trying to trace them in the analysis of some texts, we will also talk about branded content and when writers themselves become good publicists. Finally, an attempt will be made to integrate the lessons learned from literary models with some tricks proper to contemporary marketing, and we will conclude with some text-writing exercises to try to put what we have learned into practice.

The meeting will be given by Giulia Basso, a professional journalist for national newspapers.
