On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which falls on November 25, the University of Trieste's Single Guarantee Committee - CUG is promoting a Focus Week to engage the university community and citizens, with the aim of exploring the phenomenon from different perspectives and offering tools for understanding, training, and informing.

Professors from the University of Trieste's departments explore, through seminars, the issues of violence against women, stereotypes, and inequalities, and host the "Posto occupato" initiative, which the University of Trieste supports.
The "Posto occupato" initiative involves the symbolic occupation of seats in lecture halls to remember all women who have been victims of violence. Each of these women, before a husband, a former partner, or a lover took their life, occupied a seat in the theater, on the tram, at school, at the university, and in society. The initiative also aims to raise awareness among citizens through events throughout the city organized in collaboration with local organizations and institutions.

The detailed program of the Focus Week and all the information are included in the attachment below.

The University of Trieste's CUG is responsible for promoting equal opportunities, combating all forms of discrimination, and supporting actions aimed at fostering a work environment focused on organizational well-being. The CUG is open to the entire university community.
