As part of the Contemporary History course for the master's degree program From Ancient to Contemporary, professor Claudio Vellutini, associate professor of musicology at the University of British Columbia, will give a lecture entitled "History, Opera, and Cross-Histoire". This lecture will focus on the history of opera between Italy and Austria in the 19th century, approached from a cross-history perspective.

The lecture will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in Room 2 of the DiSU campus, at Via Lazzaretto Vecchio 8.

The meeting aims to expand the theoretical and methodological framework of the master's program, offering analytical tools useful for understanding historical cultural dynamics from a transnational perspective.

Participation is open to students, as well as faculty from other interested programs.
