On Monday 25th November, at 18:00 in the Main Hall of Androna Baciocchi, the third-to-last session of History in the City is scheduled, an event organised by the Regional Institute for the History of the Resistance and Contemporary Age in Friuli Venezia Giulia (Irsrec FVG) and the Department of Political and Social Sciences (DiSPeS) of the University of Trieste.

This year's cycle of meetings is dedicated to the theme of the Resistance and the fight against Nazi-Fascism in different parts of Europe: during this meeting, Professor Stefano Santoro will delve into the issue of the Resistance in South-Eastern Europe.

Santoro is Associate Professor in History of Eastern Europe at the Department of Humanities, University of Trieste. In his studies he has dealt with various aspects of political and cultural history in contemporary times, including the cultural diplomacy and propaganda of Fascist Italy towards Eastern Europe, relations between the Italian Communist Party and Eastern countries during the ‘Cold War’, and nationalism in Eastern Europe between the 19th and 20th centuries, with particular reference to the Romanian case. On these and other topics relating to Eastern Europe and relations between Italy and Eastern Europe, he has spoken at numerous conferences in Italy and abroad.

History in the City, an exhibition curated by Raoul Pupo, Gabriele Mastrolillo and Patrick Karslen, will continue until Monday 16th December.

The audios of the lectures and any materials provided by the speakers will be available for free listening and downloading at the following link
