Let’s talk about it” is a project promoted by the Department of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Trieste, funded under the University’s Public and Social Engagement Projects – Third Mission. The initiative, running between 2025 and 2026, aims to create opportunities for listening, sharing information, and fostering dialogue with citizens on the impacts of climate change and on strategies to address them collectively. Planned activities include public talks, film screenings, and workshops to engage the local community with accessible language and a multidisciplinary approach.The fourth event is the talk “The Energy Transition: What Is The Role of Technology?”, scheduled for October 17, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Stazione Rogers in Trieste, focusing on global scenarios and the key technologies enabling the shift toward renewable energy sources.The Event in BriefThe new millennium is characterized by an energy transition that involves the gradual replacement of fossil energy sources with renewable ones. The exponential global growth of renewables is linked to several factors: the limited availability of fossil fuels, efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and the need to cut energy system costs.
