As part of the Week of Remembrance, on Thursday 25 January 2024, the tenth edition of the multidisciplinary conference "Living with Auschwitz" will be held at the Miela Theatre in Trieste.

At 3 p.m., after greetings from the academic authorities, the conference will be opened by Miriam Spizzichino, granddaughter of Settimia Spizzichino, the only woman to have survived the deportation to Auschwitz of 1023 civilians of Jewish origin, following the Nazi-Fascist rounding up of 1253 people in Rome on 18 September 1943.
Speakers from various national universities are expected to participate.
Films will be presented, including the recent video on the first touching visit, since 1944, of Tatiana Bucci (LHC Units) to the Silos of Trieste Station, from where she left for Auschwitz with thirteen family members, of whom only three returned.

The event will be moderated by journalist Pierluigi Sabatti.

The initiative is realised within the framework of the agreement between the University of Trieste and the cultural association Stazione Ernesto Nathan Rogers.
