Saturday 13 June 2026
National archaeological museum of Aquileia
11.00 am - The color of wonder. The diatreta cup from the House of Dancing Putti between reality and digital
Conference by Emanuela Murgia (Department of Humanistic Studies - University of Trieste)

Archaeological investigations conducted by the Department of Humanities at the University of Trieste, with a grant from the MiC through Sabap FVG and in collaboration with the Aquileia Foundation, have led to the discovery of a refined and rare type of Roman glass.
The unique technique of working diatreta glass, with its truly inimitable chromatic characteristics, makes this find truly extraordinary.

On this occasion, the find will be exhibited to the public along with a reconstruction proposal created as part of the XRCulture project coordinated by the ICCD - Central Institute for Cataloguing and Documentation.

This will be followed by a visit to the second floor of the museum, where the rare fragment of Diatreta glass will be exhibited to the public for the first time.

Free participation upon reservation: tel.0431 91016 - /museoaquileiaeventi@cultura.gov.it
