Let’s talk about it” is a project promoted by the Department of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Trieste, funded under the University’s Public and Social Engagement Projects – Third Mission. The initiative, running between 2025 and 2026, aims to create opportunities for listening, sharing information, and fostering dialogue with citizens on the impacts of climate change and on strategies to address them collectively. Planned activities include public talks, film screenings, and workshops to engage the local community with accessible language and a multidisciplinary approach.The second event is the talk “The City that Suffocates and Overwhelms Us”, scheduled for September 23, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Bar Libreria Knulp in Trieste, focusing on the effects of climate change on urban spaces and the possible solutions to make the city more livable.The Event in BriefAs in many other cities around the world, in recent decades the impacts of climate change have become increasingly tangible in Trieste. Extreme events are causing significant damage to urban spaces and to the health of citizens, as well as to infrastructure, public facilities, and economic activities. Among the most severe effects are those related to rising temperatures and flooding. To adapt to these changes and ensure well-being, more green spaces are needed in the city.
