On Tuesday 3 December 2024, at 9.30 a.m., the Study Day ‘Central-Eastern Europe in the last thirty years: society, culture, politics’, promoted by CISUECO at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Trieste in the framework of the International Conference: ‘2004-2024: Twenty years of East-West dialogue in the EU. New epistemological paths in the historical, literary and linguistic sciences, new geocultural and cognitive maps of the humanities: analysis and consequences".

The Study Day will take place in the Aula Magna of the University Pole in Via Alviano 18, Gorizia.

09:30 - Greetings by Beatrice Tottossy, Director CISUECO, University of Florence

10:00 - Elisabetta De Giorgi, University of Trieste, in dialogue with Massimo Prearo, University of Verona, on ‘Gender Policies in Hungary in Comparative Perspective

10:30 - Pietro Neglie, University of Trieste, talks with Angelo Coco, Vice-President Fondazione B. Buozzi Foundation on ‘Trade Unions and the Protection of Workers’ Rights in Post-Communist Hungary in Comparative Perspective’.

11:00 - Francesco Randazzo and Marco Sollevanti, University of Perugia, present the book ‘L'Ungheria di Viktor Orbán’ ed. Passerino, Gaeta, 2024.

11:30 - Cesare La Mantia, University of Trieste, talks with Roberto Louvin, University of Trieste, on ‘Sovereignty rediscovered and limited again: the protection of minorities in Central Europe’.

12:00 - CONCLUSION OF THE PROCEEDINGS

CISUECO is the ‘Inter-University Centre for Hungarian and Central-Eastern European Studies’. As part of a multi-site international conference, the DiSPeS Research Unit is organising this study day entitled ‘Central and Eastern Europe in the Last Thirty Years: Society, Culture, Politics’, the focus of which will be on the protection of rights in several areas.

The exhibition 'The Graphic Language of the October Revolution: posters and architecture’ organised by the University Library of Gorizia.
