Calendar 25 May 2026, 7:15 - 10 pm Testo evento The 94th Concert Season of the Società dei Concerti Trieste concludes with an international event of extraordinary intensity, on Monday 25 May 2026: the Yale Schola Cantorum of Yale University in New Haven and the Juilliard415 Orchestra of New York, conducted by Grete Pedersen, come to Trieste.The Juilliard School in New York is one of the most prestigious institutions of higher education in the performing and musical arts in the United States, while the Yale Schola Cantorum in New Haven is renowned for its expertise in sacred choral repertoire of the Baroque and Classical periods.The 8:30 pm concert at the Teatro Verdi will be an extraordinary event, featuring young students from prestigious universities performing Franz Joseph Haydn's The Creation. This opera, a grand musical fresco for choir, soloists, and orchestra, recounts the birth of the world through one of the most radiant scores in the entire classical repertoire.At 7:15 pm, a meeting with conductor Grete Pedersen will be held, led by Marco Seco and Helena Lozano of the Department of Humanities at the University of Trieste, in the theater's Ridotto. Admission is free.Grete Pedersen, one of the most respected conductors on the international choral scene, currently directs the Yale Schola Cantorum, a world-renowned chamber ensemble specializing in sacred Baroque and Classical music, based at Yale University in New Haven. Her artistic approach is based on a rare balance between rigor, deep listening, and collective sound construction.
