THE ARCHITECTURE PROJECT: FORMS, THEORIES, TOOLS. The role of architectural composition

Speakers will include Giovanni Fraziano, former full professor of Architectural and Urban Composition, and Graziella Bloccari, president of the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Conservators of the province of Trieste.

An architect, a student of Gianugo Polesello and former full professor of Architectural and Urban Composition at the IUAV University of Venice, Pierluigi Grandinetti has developed a long teaching and research career focused on the centrality of design, the tools of composition, the relationship between new and old, the tradition of the Venetian School, and the transformation of historical space.

The meeting will focus on architectural composition as a discipline of design: a field in which form, theory, geometry, typology, language, and detail contribute to the construction of the work.

ARCHILETTTURE is a series of three lectures dedicated to architecture books and design culture. Its goal is to create a space for discussion between authors, scholars, designers, students, and citizens, starting with texts that address key issues in contemporary architectural debate.

Doctoral students will receive one credit for participating in the lecture series.

The event is accredited by the Order of Architects, Planners, Designers, and Designers of Trieste. Participation in the event will receive two credits. Registration is available on the Services Portal, course code ARTS 499.

The initiative is part of the collaboration agreement between the City of Trieste and the University of Trieste and the agreement between the University of Trieste and Stazione Rogers.

The event is organized by the Department of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Trieste in collaboration with Stazione Rogers, UniUD, the Order of Architects of Trieste, and the UNITS-UNIUD Interuniversity PhD Program in Civil, Environmental Engineering and Architecture.
