03 June 2025 , 5:30 - 7 pm Testo evento Six years after the signing of the Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together, signed in Abu Dhabi by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmad Al-Tayyeb, the University of Trieste has proposed a moment of discussion between two authoritative voices from the religious world in order to reaffirm the universal value of human dignity and solidarity. The Document, born out of a historical encounter between Christianity and Islam, calls on believers and non-believers alike to promote a culture of peace, mutual respect and the rejection of all forms of violence, hatred and discrimination. The initiative aims to offer a space for reflection on some of the most pressing issues of our time: the protection of human dignity, welcoming refugees, overcoming all forms of exclusion, affirming religious freedom and rejecting all forms of fundamentalism. The meeting aims to highlight the potential for interreligious dialogue to serve as a tool for building social peace and promoting inclusive citizenship, based on respect, listening and shared responsibility.
