The call for applications for the 2026 Francesco Pinna Degree Prize, promoted by the Municipality of Trieste in collaboration with the University of Trieste, has been published.

Application deadline: July 2, 2026

The €1,000 award is intended for graduates of the University of Trieste who, after January 1, 2022, have defended a thesis consistent with the themes of workplace risk prevention and protection or, more generally, workplace safety.

The initiative was created to honor the memory of Francesco Pinna, a young worker and student at the University of Trieste who was the victim of a workplace accident in December 2011. It aims to promote awareness and cultural exploration of issues of social relevance.

Requirements:

- Master's degree or single-cycle Master's degree in any of the University of Trieste's degree programs;
- Thesis specifically related to the topics of workplace risk prevention and protection and workplace safety in general;
- Degree obtained after January 1, 2025;
- Not having won awards in the field of workplace safety from this University, including in previous editions.

Applications must be submitted exclusively online by 1:00 PM on July 2, 2026, using your University credentials.

The selection process will be conducted by a committee composed of University faculty, an occupational health and safety expert, and a representative of the Municipality of Trieste. The award will be presented during a ceremony organized as part of the "SicurezzAccessibile - European Week for Health and Safety at Work" event, scheduled for October 2026 at the University.
