Contributions, Limitations, MisunderstandingsThe VIII Seminar on Sacred Archaeology "Sacrum facere" will be held on April 27 and 28, 2026, at the Department of Humanities, in Androna Baciocchi 4, Room B. The seminar is organized as part of the activities of the Center for Studies on the Tradition and Reception of Antiquity (DiSU), in collaboration with the University of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and under the patronage of the Italo-French University through the Scientific Label 2025 program.The conference "Sacrum facere" is dedicated to the use of literary sources in the reconstruction of the sacred. The idea is to evaluate the limitations and potential of literary sources for identifying spaces, rites, and cults, also in relation to the contribution of other documentary types. Space will also be given to a methodological reflection on the uses and abuses of modern interpretations, the relationship between Greek and Latin sources, and "translations."The conference will feature professors from the Department and from national and international universities and institutions.The complete program for the two-day conference is available in the attachment below.A certificate of attendance will be issued to the school's faculty.
