On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 4:30 pm, in the Cacciaguerra Auditorium, on the first floor of the central building A of the Piazzale Europa 1 Campus, the round table entitled "IMEC Corridor: what are the new opportunities for Trieste and its port system?" will take place.

In recent years, evolving geopolitical dynamics and the redefinition of major international trade routes have highlighted the need to identify alternative, safer, and more efficient routes for trade between Asia and Europe.
This is the context for the Indo-Mediterranean Corridor (IMEC – India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor), a strategic project connecting India, the Middle East, and Europe, in which Italy is potentially destined to play a key role. In this context, the Port of Trieste stands out for its geographic and infrastructural characteristics, making it a natural candidate to become one of the key hubs of the new trade route.
The IMEC therefore offers a significant opportunity to further strengthen Trieste's strategic positioning in the international logistics system, enabling it to intercept significant trade flows between India and the markets of Central and Eastern Europe.
