Data avviso 3 July 2025 Testo avviso The volume Populist Radical Right Parties in Action: The Survival of the Mass Party is now available in open access. Among the contributing authors is Mattia Zulianello, Lecturer in Political Science at the University of Trieste. The book is published by Oxford University Press, one of the world’s most prestigious academic publishers. The volume investigates why several populist radical right parties (PRRPs) active in Western Europe continue to adopt the traditional mass party model, despite the digital age and growing public disengagement from politics. Drawing on internal organisational analysis and over 200 interviews with party representatives and grassroots members in Belgium, Finland, Italy and Switzerland, the book examines how these parties establish territorial roots and engage their activist base. The research is the result of a collaborative project coordinated by Daniele Albertazzi and Stijn van Kessel, with funding from the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council. Mattia Zulianello contributed specifically to the section on the Italian case. The volume offers a significant contribution to the ongoing reassessment of classical theories of party organisation.
