The Case of the Istro-Rumanian” will take place in Room 2 of the DiSU headquarters, at Via Lazzaretto Vecchio 8.As part of the course Contemporary History (557LM) within the Master’s Degree programme From Antiquity to the Contemporary (LE65), we are pleased to host Prof. Reinhard Johler, Full Professor at the Ludwig-Uhland-Institut für Empirische Kulturwissenschaft (Institute of Historical and Cultural Anthropology) at the University of Tübingen, a scholar of internationally recognized authority in the fields of European cultural anthropology and cultural history. Prof. Johler will deliver a lecture entitled: “A Minority in a Hybrid World. The Case of the Istro-Rumanian”, focusing on minorities and processes of cultural hybridization in the Central European space. The lecture will explore issues of diversity and cultural hybridity in Central and Eastern Europe between the 19th and 20th centuries, while also strengthening the interdisciplinary framework of the course through the dialogue between history and anthropology.The event, in english, is open to students and faculty members from other courses who are interested.Contact: francescotoncich@units.it
