The relationship between campus and city prompts a reflection on the university’s role in urban transformation and on the design of spaces for studying, living, and socializing. Academic and research facilities, student housing, services, and public spaces all contribute to forging connections between the university community and the city, linking daily activities with new forms of shared experience.

As the first in a series of three meetings, the "LEARNING FROM: Campus and City" seminar initiates a collaborative academic dialogue between the Integrated Architectural and Built Environment Design Laboratory (RRR Lab) at the University of Trieste (UniTS) and the Design Studio 1 at IUAV University of Venice. An analysis of existing experiences and projects serves as the starting point for discussing settlement patterns, the organization of communal spaces, and relationships with the urban fabric. Discussions involving representatives from the municipal administration, university technical departments, and the research community link academic experimentation with the practical needs of transforming and managing university assets.
