From October 19 to 23, 2026, the former Military Hospital and the Piazzale Europa campus will host the “International Workshop on Regulation of Gene Expression”, an intensive course conducted in English and led by both Italian and international speakers, which will involve approximately 70 students. These participants will have the opportunity to take an active part in various educational activities planned throughout the week.

Thanks to the support of the ERASMUS Blended Intensive Programme, this year’s workshop will welcome students not only from the University of Trieste and the universities of Paris Cité and Rennes, but also from the Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Seville, further enhancing the international dimension of the Functional Genomics degree program at the University of Trieste.

This initiative is part of a dual-degree program between the Master’s degree in Functional Genomics (Department of Life Sciences) and the Master’s in Genetics at Université Paris Cité, as well as the Master’s in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Rennes—a program supported by the French-Italian University. Over the years, this initiative has facilitated an extensive exchange of students between the French universities and our own.

The workshop offers an excellent opportunity for students to expand their academic background in the field of Genetics and Genomics, while strengthening their skills within an international context.
