The conference "On Attacks on Judges — The Judiciary, the Media and the Rule of Law" will take place on Friday 13 November 2026, at 10.00 am, in the Bachelet Hall, Building A of the Piazzale Europa campus.

Adopting an interdisciplinary and comparative perspective involving Italy, Croatia, and Slovenia, this seminar addresses the growing phenomenon of attacks on the judiciary and the complex relationship between the judicial branch, traditional media, and social media, with particular attention to the implications for the rule of law. Chaired by Jasna Šegan (AEAJ co-chair), the event brings together sixteen speakers—senior judges and academics specializing in administrative law, political science, moral philosophy, economics, and EU law from the universities of Trieste, Ljubljana, Rijeka, Catania, and Salento—for a collective examination of the institutional, ethical, political, and communicative aspects of the phenomenon.

The conference is a special session of the XII ICERNA 2026 (International Conversation Euro Regio North Adriatic).
