On Thursday, 8 October 2026, at 11:00 a.m., the Arduino Agnelli Meeting Room at the Department of Humanities (Androna Campo Marzio 10, Trieste) will host the presentation of the book “Basaglia oggi. Un pensiero necessario”, edited by Giovanna Del Giudice.

The volume reflects on the continuing relevance of Franco Basaglia’s thought, presenting his ideas not merely as part of historical memory, but as a living tool for interpreting the contradictions of contemporary society and rethinking the relationship between mental healthcare and the care of society as a whole.

The discussion will feature Giovanna Del Giudice and Alessandro Saullo, from the Permanent Conference Association for Mental Health in the Franco Basaglia World (CoPerSaMM), and Tullia Catalan, Professor of Contemporary History at the Department of Humanities (DiSU).

The event will be chaired by Rosemary Serra, Professor of Sociology at the Department of Humanities (DiSU).
