From 13 to 17 July 2026, the University Campus of Gorizia of the University of Trieste will host WIP2026 – Riviera. Five laboratories of architecture and landscape between land and water, the integrated design workshop organised by the single-cycle Master’s Degree Programme in Architecture of the Department of Engineering and Architecture.

The 2026 edition, organised in collaboration with the Comunità della Riviera Friulana, will involve around 150 students from the UniTS Degree Programme in Architecture, together with lecturers, tutors and eight visiting architects from Italy and abroad.

The Friulian Riviera will serve as the workshop’s territory-laboratory: a landscape between land and water, crossed by small historic towns, resurgence rivers, lowland forests and slow-mobility infrastructures along the lagoon edge.

Through five thematic laboratories, students will work on lightweight landscape devices, river landings, shelters for cycle tourism, climate-responsive public spaces and strategies for widespread museum integration, experimenting with new relationships between architecture, territory and community.

The workshop, curated by Giuseppina Scavuzzo, Thomas Bisiani and Adriano Venudo, will take place at the UniTS University Campus of Gorizia, in via Alviano 18, in the spaces of the Conference Center, Atrio Conference and Aula Bunker.
