21 March 2026, 10 - 11 am Testo evento Third event of the project at Farneto Park: registration now openHealth, Territory, Prevention, and Information. Once again, these will be the key concepts developed and implemented in the third event of the public social engagement project of the Department of Medical, Surgical, and Health Sciences of the University of Trieste, entitled "Health between Land and Sea", which will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m.After its first date last summer on the Barcola waterfront, the event returns, as it will in September 2025, to Farneto Park, also known as "Boschetto," a popular spot for locals. The walks and guest talks will seek to shed light on two key aspects of two fundamental macro-themes for a conscious experience of the forest: Wellbeing (Health and Prevention) and Safety (Rescue and Security). The event, conceived by Alex Buoite Stella (Delegate of the Department of Medical, Surgical, and Health Sciences at the University of Trieste for public and social engagement – third mission and project promoter), is supported by the Regional Forestry Corps. For all interested parties, the meeting is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the MIB Trieste School of Management in Largo Caduti di Nassiriya, near Parco Ferdinandeo and Villa Revoltella Park.Registration for the event is FREE and can be done on the following UniTs webpage: FORM D’ISCRIZIONE . Participants, divided into two groups, will take turns on two different walks (each approximately 45 minutes long). They will be accompanied by experts to explore, depending on the route, two topics related to the relationship with the forest: Health and Rescue. Participants with limited mobility may follow the route through the Revoltella Park area, not the Farneto Park area.High-profile figures will accompany participants on the two proposed walks. On the Health trail, participants will be joined by professor Massimo Puato (Vascular Pathophysiology Research Group) and professor Andrea Taddio (Pediatrics Research Group), as well as professors and researchers from the Oral Medicine and Pathology Research Group. On the Rescue trails, participants will meet professor Luigi Murena and colleagues from the Orthopedics and Traumatology Research Group, assistant professor Claudio Antoniutti (Fire Safety Inspector of the Trieste Fire Brigade), and dr. Cristiano Rizzo (118 Emergency Responder). The "Health between Land and Sea" project is the result of the dialogue and collaborative efforts of countless local organizations. Alongside the Department of Medical, Surgical, and Health Sciences at the University of Trieste, the initiative also includes the Municipality of Trieste through its Department of Territorial Policies, the Giuliano Isontina University Health Authority (ASUGI), the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), the IRCSS Burlo Garofolo, Pallanuoto Trieste sponsored by Samer & Co.
