Degree in Architecture and Marco Zuttioni Association

The awards ceremony for the third edition of the Marco Zuttioni Degree Award will take place on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 1:30 PM in the Aula Magna of the PUG UniTS campus, located at Via Alviano 18, Gorizia. The announcement of the Architecture graduates will follow.

The award, in memory of the founding architect of the Modourbano studio, will be presented by Cecilia Gazzi, President of the Marco Zuttioni Association, to Sara Cantarutti, a graduate in Architecture from the University of Trieste.

The Zuttioni Award, which aims to support and recognize excellence in architecture, in line with Marco Zuttioni's vision and commitment, was awarded this year to the thesis entitled "STEELWOVEN: From Industrial Space to Textile Laboratory for a New Fashion District".

The thesis - supervised by prof. Thomas Bisiani and co-supervisor prof. Alessio Bortot - investigates the regeneration of the former Bertoli-Safau steelworks in Udine through the transformation of a disused industrial site into a new fashion district that offers an integrated system of textile laboratories, production spaces, offices, ateliers, exhibition areas and public spaces, capable of connecting industrial memory, innovation, sustainability and a new urban identity.

The awards ceremony will be held in Gorizia, in the Aula Magna, home to the Architecture Degree Program, during the announcement of the graduates of the extraordinary session of the 2024-2025 academic year. It will be introduced by the coordinator of the Architecture Degree Program, Giuseppina Scavuzzo.

During the event, Sara Cantarutti will present her winning degree project.

Luca Romagnoli, a jury member and co-founder with Marco Zuttioni of Modourbano, will also be present. In addition to the €1,500 prize, Modourbano offers the winner a six-month paid internship at its Milan office each year.
