On Friday, January 23, 2026, at 5 pm, the Department of Life Sciences of the University of Trieste will host the Ceremony for the conferral of the title of Honorary Member by the Society for Gestalt Theory and its Applications (GTA) to professors Riccardo Luccio (Professor Emeritus) and Serena Cattaruzza, leading scholars in the field of Gestalt Psychology and its theoretical foundations, the philosophy of science and Italian scientific psychology.

This high-profile scientific and institutional initiative recognizes the fundamental contribution of the two scholars to the development of psychological research and theoretical reflection, to university education, and to the dissemination of Gestalt culture in Italy and Europe.
The ceremony will be held in Room 1A - Conferences in Building D of the University of Trieste Campus. The opening address will be given by the Director of the Department of Life Sciences, Ivan Donati, who will provide institutional greetings.
The laudationes will be delivered by Tiziano Agostini for Riccardo Luccio and Fiorenza Toccafondi for Serena Cattaruzza.

The day represents a moment of celebration of Trieste's scientific heritage in the field of perception and an opportunity to strengthen ties between the local academic community and the European Gestalt Psychology network.

The ceremony will be open to the university community and the public, subject to availability.
